We're fish on a wire,
scaly minds laid open to the sun
poked and prodded by fingers and
punctured by gutting knives.
Let's explore these folds of scales and gills and bones,
strip away the ribs and the rest of the viscera,
leaving muscle-made-flesh:
a fillet, worthy of exposure to the world--
edible, if nothing else.

Heh, reminds me more of science class last year. What inspired it?
I have no idea...like I said,I was bored in English class and for some reason I had this image of fish impaled on really thin metal wire and decided to run with it; we were discussing A Doll's House, which has no fish our wires, as far as I remember, so I'll chalk it up to sleep deprivation-inspired sort-of-creativity.
Wow, wordy much?
