Dude, that was AWESOME. Loved it :D I missed your cool-but-totally-creepy poems, Charles! Every so often I check out thecharlescrawford.wordpress.com just so I can reminisce :D
Almost all of the abortion stanza was lovely; I'd think about cutting the line about nipping the problem in the bud--I know it's a conscious pun and is almost supposed to be wince-worthy, but it seems like a little much. I also really enjoyed the lines about the marriage bed being sacred and the little parenthetical about it being her right breast that was cancerous. Just in general, I think it's so delightful that you can take relatively normal events and turn them into shocking, almost grotesque things. Very fun to read.
Sam mentioned this poem the other night and I realized I hadn't read it (until now) and... Wow, Charles, your ability to make events (real or imaginary) work for you instead of the other way around is truly amazing. Even though your imagery made my stomach a little queasy, this is fantastic. Perhaps it's fantastic because it made my stomach queasy?
